2 Day Event – Tree Planting, Glen Brittle, Isle of Skye

February 23 - February 24

Following our tree planting efforts in October 25′, we will be adding further 500 native trees to the Fairy Pools car park site. Another jobs may include invasive tree species removal and inspection of the Pools’ footpath.

Event’s Details

Location: Glen Brittle, Isle of Skye

Monday: 11:30 am to 4 pm – tree planting
Tuesday: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm – more tree planting, invasive species removal, local path inspection and maintenance

Accommodation: Glen Brittle Memorial Hut
The GBMH has bunk beds in shared rooms. There are toilets, showers, drying room, well-equipped kitchen, fridge/freezer, heating, multi-fuel stove. You will need a sleeping bag and a pillow case. More details of what to bring will be provided closer to the event.

Meals
Bring your own lunch for both days, and breakfast for Tue morning.
Communal dinner on Monday night provided by OATS.

Requirements
No experience of tree planting or path maintenance is required. Volunteers must be used to spending time outdoors, have a good physical fitness and be capable of walking on steep uneven terrain.

Tools and work gloves will be provided.

Transport
Transport is not provided, but we encourage car sharing .

Weather
Please note that in the case of severe weather forecast, this event may have to be postponed.
