Path Maintenance – Braeriach, Aviemore

July 20 @ 08:30 - 16:30

The focus will be on the section that climbs up from Lairig Ghru towards Sron na Lairige. Please note that accessing the location will require a long walk, therefore it will be an earlier start than usual.

Location: The start point will be confirmed closer to the day.

Time: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Facilities: The nearest toilets available are at Loch Morlich Beach car park and in Glenmore village.

On the day
We are going to clear drainage features, help to repair erosion damage and fix sections where it is needed to encourage users to use the original path line.

Requirements
No experience of path work is required. Tools, working gloves and safety glasses will be provided.
Volunteers must be used to spending time outdoors, have experience walking in the hills, have a good physical fitness and be capable of using tools. 14 to 18-year-olds are welcome to join in as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

What to bring
Appropriate footwear (preferably waterproof boots with firm ankle support), suitable clothing for a full day in the hills (including waterproofs, cap or hat and spare warm layer to be prepared for changing weather conditions), insect repellent and sunscreen, and plenty of water and food for the day.
