SUMMARY:Path Maintenance - Meall a'Bhuachaille
DESCRIPTION:Another day of path maintenance on this popular Corbett!\nMeall a’Bhuachaille rises north of Glenmore and offers a lovely hike\, passing ancient Caledonian pines\, green lochan and Ryvoan bothy. The path then starts climbing up and includes some steep stone-pitching sections. It gradually eases off before reaching the summit and revealing panoramic views of the Cairngorms. \nLocation: Glenmore Lodge\,  Aviemore \nTime: 9:30 am – 4 pm \nFacilities: There are accessible toilets at Glenmore Lodge. \nOn the day\nVolunteers will help to improve another section of this popular trail and experience path building techniques. \nRequirements\nNo experience of path work is required. Tools\, work gloves and safety glasses will be provided.\nVolunteers must be used to spending time outdoors\, have experience walking in the hills\, have a good physical fitness and be capable of using tools. 14 to 18-year-olds are welcome to join in as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. \nWhat to bring\nAppropriate footwear (preferably waterproof boots with firm ankle support)\, suitable clothing for a full day in the hills (including waterproofs\, cap or hat and spare warm layer to be prepared for changing weather conditions)\, insect repellent and sunscreen\, and plenty of water and food for the day. \n  \nIf you have any queries please contact Eva\, our Outdoor Access Volunteer Coordinator at eva.kupska@outdooraccesstrustforscotland.org.uk

SUMMARY:Path Maintenance - Carn Ban Mor\, Glen Feshie
DESCRIPTION:The built path is a popular route up to Carn Ban Mor and gives access to Sgor Gaoith and Mullach Clach a’ Bhlair munros\, plus longer options to approach other summits on the west side of the Lairig Ghru. \nLocation: Glen Feshie \nTime: 9:30 am – 4 pm \nFacilities: There are no toilet facilities available in the immediate area. \nOn the day\nVolunteers will help to repair erosion to the footpath\, prevent further damage due to rainfall\, and fix sections where it is needed to encourage users to use the original path line. The maintenance will be centered around what is known as a “drainage run”\, walking the route and clearing drainage features as we go. Such a work is vitally important to ensure the built paths are kept in a good condition\, protecting the surrounding landscape and maintaining the accessibility of the hills. \nRequirements\nNo experience of path work is required. SUMMARY:Glenlivet Maintenance Day
DESCRIPTION:Great opportunity for OATS volunteers to join Glenlivet Estate Rangers\, Mark & Rob\, and engage in various maintenance and conservation activities. These can range from fencing\, signage\, invasive species removal\, path maintenance and more.  \nLocation: Glenlivet Estate Office\, Tomintoul \nTime: 10 am – 3pm \nFacilities: Glenlivet Estate Office or Tomintoul public toilets \nRequirements\nNo induction needed. Tools and work gloves will be provided (you can bring your own work gloves if you prefer). \nWhat to bring\nAll volunteers should bring appropriate footwear (waterproof boots with firm ankle support) and appropriate clothing (long sleeves and long trousers\, waterproofs\, cap / sun hat) to cover them for changing weather conditions. No shorts should be worn as ticks are present in the area. SUMMARY:Path Maintenance - Mount Keen\, Glen Tanar
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: New date for Mount Keen Path Maintenance day – Sunday 3rd November \nMount Keen\, the most easterly of the Munros\, can be approached from Glen Tanar or Glen Esk.\nBoth routes follow a combination of estate tracks and mostly well-built paths. The summit at 939 meters is marked by a trig point sitting on the top of a rocky outcrop. \nLocation: Glen Tanar\, Aboyne \nFacilities: The nearest toilets available are at Glen Tanar Visitor Centre. \nOn the day\nVolunteers will help to repair erosion to the footpath\, prevent further damage due to rainfall\, and fix sections where it is needed to encourage users to use the original path line.
